UPDATE: The victim of the fatal shooting early this morning at 17 Margin St, New Bedford has been identified by the office of Bristol County District Attorney Thomas M. Quinn III as 25-year-old Keven Rocha of New Bedford.
New Bedford Police, Massachusetts State Police detectives assigned to the district attorney’s office and Homicide Unit prosecutors are actively investigating a fatal shooting which occurred in New Bedford early this morning between 4:00-5:00 am.
New Bedford Police responded to 17 Margin Street early this morning and discovered a male had been fatally shot inside of the multi-family building.
The victim is an unidentified male and based upon evidence gathered during the preliminary investigation, he was found to have suffered from multiple gunshot wounds.
The state Medical Examiner’s Office will take custody of the body to perform an autopsy in the coming days.
As the homicide investigation remains active and ongoing, no further information can be disseminated at this time.
