New Bedford Police have identified seven males of interest in connection with Thursday’s shots fired incident on Thompson Street.

Of the seven males, police have currently sought arrest warrants for two. Additional warrants or arrests are likely forthcoming.

A firearm and ammunition were recovered at the scene.

Of the two juveniles taken into custody Thursday in connection with the shooting, investigators have determined neither juvenile was involved in the shooting, nor was the firearm found on one of them used at the shooting.

However one of the juveniles, the 15-year-old male, was arrested and charged with unlawful carrying of a firearm and carrying a loaded firearm. The second juvenile, a 16-year-old male, was released and not charged.

The investigation remains active and anyone with information is asked to call the police department at 508-991-6350 or the anonymous tip line at 508-992-7463 or email tip@newbedfordpd.com.
