Project Description

The project will accept solid waste and recyclable materials and will recycle to the extent possible. Material that cannot be recycled will be transported primarily by rail to out of state disposal facilities. The project will be constructed in two phases and will include the following:

Phase 1
• Construction of new 27,500 sf building with glass recycling equipment. Glass bottles collected through the state’s deposit program will be processed for recycling. Processed glass will be transported primarily by rail to out of state bottle manufacturers.
• Construction of rail sidetrack to provide rail service to the site
• Construction of 1.9 MW of photovoltaic solar power

Phase 2
• Construction of a processing facility to receive 1,500 tons per day of municipal solid waste (MSW). This facility will include the construction of a new 50,000 sf MSW receiving building. The facility will extract recyclable materials from municipal solid waste utilizing advanced optical and robotic separation equipment. Residual waste that cannot be recycled will be transported out of state for disposal primarily by rail
• Construction of a 30,000 sf state of the art biosolids drying facility. Dried biosolids will be transported out of state for disposal primarily by rail.
• Expansion of the rail sidetrack to provide additional rail car storage
