Palace Pizza delivery person robbed in New Bedford by suspect with firearm

A delivery person for Palace Pizza was robbed in front of 242 Purchase St. Sunday night by a suspect who displayed a black firearm.

The suspect demanded the victim, a 43-year-old New Bedford man, hand over the cash he collected throughout the night from his deliveries. The suspect took the cash and fled on foot south on Purchase Street then east on South Street.

The suspect is described as a black male, about 30 years old, with a mustache, wearing a dark blue jacket with a hood and blue jeans.

No one was injured in the incident, which was reported at 6:30 p.m.

New Bedford police are investigating. Anyone with information is asked to call the police department at 508-991-6350 or the anonymous tip line at 508-992-7463 or e-mail tip@newbedfordpd.com.
