This is the last straw.

A criminal illegal alien who had already been deported five times shot and killed Kathryn Steinle on a pier in San Francisco on June 1, 2015 while she was walking with her father and a friend.

She collapsed in her father’s arms after being shot in the back. The 32-year-old died two hours later on a hospital bed.

Two months before killing that young woman, he was released from a San Francisco jail because the city’s Sanctuary City policy forced local law enforcement to ignore federal immigration authorities’ request to detain him for deportation orders.

Thursday, a San Francisco jury found the shooting to be accidental and acquitted Jose Inez Garcia Zarate of any serious charges.

A Sanctuary City let loose a criminal illegal alien who killed an innocent woman in her father’s arms. It’s disgusting.

The callous and heartless indifference of people who were elected by us to protect our citizens and legal residents from the harm inflicted by lawbreakers is outrageous.

Whether by inaction to strengthen our immigration laws, or intentionally obstructing law enforcement’s efforts to work with our federal partners to prevent innocent people like Steinle from being killed, these elected officials continue put their personal political agendas over the welfare and safety of those who trusted them to uphold the laws of our nation.

We are a government by and for the people. We don’t work for those we elect to public office, they work for us. It is time for all of us to use our voices and our votes to demand these elected officials do the people’s work, not use the power vested in them to advance their personal agenda at the expense of hardship and heartache for us.

We owe it to all the families left wondering what could have been for their loved ones whose lives were stolen by illegal aliens (many of whom have violated the laws of our nation time and again, only to be protected by people whose fundamental responsibility is to prevent such tragedies from happening), to do the right thing and demand that the people we elect work for us and do everything in their power to keep us safe.

It is time for Americans to stand with the thousands of Angel Moms and Dads whose loved ones were murdered, and the law enforcement officers who are risking their lives day in and day out to keep us safe.

The American Sheriffs are mobilizing to lead this nation and its people to reclaim the rule of law and the elimination of the marginalization or our collective efforts to make America safe again. It is not by accident that the term “There’s a new Sheriff in town” is used to describe President Trump’s efforts to have our government represent the interests of all lawful residents.

I’m urging everyone to contact your representatives in Congress and demand that they immediately pass Kate’s Law, which would stiffen the penalties for illegal aliens who re-enter the U.S. after being deported, and the Davis-Oliver Act, which would ensure that all local and state law enforcement officials have the full authority to enforce federal immigration law.

These two key pieces of legislation can go a long way in our mission to live in a country where no family is torn apart by a criminal illegal alien.
