OPINION: “Is this a new way of fixing the city?”

“Just curious, is this a new way to repair concrete slabs in front of someone’s driveway on a crosswalk to a school? It was dug up on Monday (Dec. 10th) during a long process that went back 2 years. That in itself [length of time it took to complete] was an issue to tackle and it was never corrected.

Anyone else would have started a lawsuit after falling.

Quite frankly it was dangerous, it was filled with tar and they left 1 inch from the sidewalk top to the fill tar. People tripped over it daily and at night there is no lighting. Now, this has been like this all week with a couple of tarps and bricks holding it down and you can’t even see the bricks.

On Monday I actually busted my butt and fell up against the wall and sprained my left foot. Anyone else would have started a lawsuit. Now let’s see how long this is gonna take. I can go on and on about how long it took to dig this up and how long it took to get someone to look at the original problem…

Anyway just wanted to know if this is a new way of fixing the city.” – Lou Mart
