The New Bedford Symphony Orchestra has announced a summerlong celebration of music in the cities of New Bedford and Fall River. The Music in the City series will feature quintet, trio, duo, and solo performances by NBSO musicians in several locations throughout both cities. All concerts are free.

“Our musicians are going to be showing up at some unexpected places this summer,” NBSO President and CEO Dave Prentiss stated. “You might be walking by a library, a playground, or somewhere downtown and be pleasantly surprised by what you hear.”

To receive notices of the time and location of the performances, people can follow the NBSO on Facebook (New Bedford Symphony Orchestra), Twitter (@NBSO_orchestra), or Instagram (newbedfordsymphonyorchestra) and search for #NBSOmusicinthecity, or simply email the NBSO at info@nbsymphony.org with the subject line “Music in the City.”

Music in the City is funded by the Creative Commonwealth Initiative of the Community Foundation of Southeastern Massachusetts.
