New Bedford Parks, Recreation & Beaches Summer Jobs

The City of New Bedford Office of Parks Recreation & Beaches announced today applications for seasonal summer jobs are now available. The department offers positions for New Bedford youth ages 16-24 for 8-10 weeks during the summer working in a variety of programs including the Play in the Park and Summer Food Program, Kennedy Summer Day Program, Beach Parking Operations, and Waterfront Lifeguarding. More than seventy positions will be offered through the Parks Recreation & Beaches Office throughout the summer, many are entry-level positions for youth seeking a summer opportunity and others require professional certification or job related experience.

Applications are available at the Administrative Office of Parks Recreation & Beaches at 181 Hillman St. Bldg 3; All applications must be returned to the Administrative Office Monday-Friday between the hours of 1:00pm-4:00pm. Applications will be accepted until May 17, 2013

Positions offered include: Site Supervisors, Van Aides, Beach Attendants, Kennedy Summer Day Program staff (experience preferred), and Lifeguards (must have proper certifications).

Applicants must attend one information session to complete their application; Information session dates are offered on Monday, April 15th at 6:15 pm or Wednesday, April 17th at 6:15 pm at the Andrea McCoy Recreation Center.
