City of New Bedford street closures for service for Sgt. Michael Cassidy

“Please avoid the areas of Parker St., Park St., Liberty St., and Smith St. and in the area of New Bedford High School as services begin for Sgt. Michael Cassidy today between 3-8 p.m. at Saunders Dwyer Funeral Home.

On Tuesday, there will be “NO PARKING” from 6 am – 1pm:

• Saunders Dwyer Funeral Home Park St. to County St. both sides.
• Rivet St. from Orchard St. to Rte. 18 both sides.
• Crapo St., Catherine St., and Bonnie St. around Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church on both sides.

The funeral procession will begin around 10:15 a.m. Tuesday. It will travel south on County St. from Parker St. to Rivet St. and then west on Rivet St. to Our Lady of Mounty Carmel. The procession from the Church will go from Rivet St. to Rte. 18 north onto Ashley Blvd. and right on Tarkiln Hill Rd. for private burial.

We ask that vehicles be mindful of the procession and pull over when possible.
