New Bedford Science Café KIDS to hold event at Buttonwood Park Zoo
The afternoon of hands-on activities to be led by UMass Dartmouth students and Zoo educators
On Saturday, December 7, between 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the Buttonwood Park Zoo in New Bedford, members of the public are invited to explore conservation and climate change issues through free hands-on activities. The event is the third hosted by New Bedford Science Café KIDS, a youth-focused initiative of New Bedford Science Café.
Students from UMASS Dartmouth and Buttonwood Park Zoo educators will guide students through kid-friendly, hands-on activities including mapping the world population, creating kelp bars, getting your hands dirty with compost, and more. The event looks to connect local students to scientists, college students, and their research while igniting their curiosity in STEM topics.
New Bedford Science Café KIDS is a partnership between New Bedford Science Café and New Bedford Parks, Recreation & Beaches. This event is sponsored by Buttonwood Park Zoo and UMass Dartmouth.
