In advance of a return to school on Monday, January 3, 2022, New Bedford Public Schools is providing K-12 NBPS staff with rapid antigen test kits for use before classes resume, Superintendent Thomas Anderson announced today.

“We will provide at-home rapid antigen tests for NBPS staff that can be picked up on Saturday, January 1 and Sunday, January 2. Staff should take the at-home test no earlier than 24 hours before returning to school. Staff must notify Human Capital Services of a positive test,” Superintendent Anderson stated in a memo to the district today.

While NO testing is required for staff to return to school, picking up a test kit this weekend and using it before returning to classes on Monday, January 3 is highly encouraged.

Distribution Schedule: Saturday and Sunday, January 1-2, 2022, 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Test Kit Pickup Location: New Bedford High School south parking lot, near the Beardsworth-Gonsalves Gymnasium doors.

Vehicles must enter the NBHS campus via the Hathaway Boulevard circular drive entrance, where they will sign in and proceed to the distribution tables set up in front of the Gym walkway. Distribution is by drive-up only.
