“It is with great sadness that The New Bedford Police Union inform everyone that Officer Gary Beaudoin had to put Retired K9 Xtra to sleep this afternoon. Officer Beaudoin and K9 Xtra served the City of New Bedford from 2007-2016.

K9 Xtra was an Explosive Detection K9 that was given to the Department from the ATF, K9 Xtra was a Regional K9 and had over a thousand EOD finds and was pivotal in the convictions of multiple criminals.

Our condolences are with Ofc Beaudoin at this time. Rest easy Xtra we will see you on the other side of Rainbows bridge. ??????.”
