“It is with sadness that the New Bedford Police Union announces the departure of another important member who has moved on to another agency.

Detective Matthew Desrosiers has moved on from the New Bedford Police Department. Detective Desrosiers was a member of the MBTA Transit Academy which graduated in April, 2018.

Prior to joining the New Bedford Police Department Detective Desrosiers worked with the Department of Children and Families as a case worker. Detective Desrosiers also has his Bachelor’s Degree in Social Services.

Detective Desrosiers was recently assigned as a detective in the Family Services Unit, which handles all cases involving sexual assaults, juvenile related issues, and domestic violence. Detective Desrosiers will be moving on to the Dartmouth Police Department.

There is little doubt that Detective Desrosiers represents a tremendous addition to the Dartmouth Police Department and their community. The New Bedford Police Union would like to thank Detective Desros.”-New Bedford Police Union.
