New Bedford police seize heroin and cocaine from Deane Street apartment

On Thursday night at about 7:45 p.m. members of the New Bedford Police Department narcotics unit executed a search warrant at a Deane Street apartment in New Bedford. This was the result of an investigation led by Det. Donald Williams into a heroin distribution operation out of the home.

As a result of the search, 10 bags of suspected heroin totaling 3.3 grams, one bag of suspected cocaine, a digital scale, packaging materials and $992 in U.S. currency were seized.

Steven Vultao, 41, of New Bedford was arrested on charges of:

  • Possession of class A substance (heroin) with intent to distribute
  • Conspiracy to violate drug laws
  • Possession of class B substance (cocaine).
