New Bedford Police seize gun, cocaine, and fentanyl at Purchase Street apartment

On November 11, New Bedford police officers seized approximately 89 grams of cocaine, 40 grams of fentanyl, drug paraphernalia, a loaded 40 caliber handgun, multiple calibers of ammunition, and $5,499 at 318 Purchase St. #1. Fentanyl is responsible for 93% of all overdose deaths in Massachusetts.

As a result, 24-year old Andre Dorsainvil of 318 Purchase St., #1 was charged with two counts of drug trafficking and numerous firearms-related charges. New Bedford police report that Dorsainvil is a known gang member with a Monte’s Park affiliation.

The incident occurred as the result of surveillance on a suspected drug transaction.

Detective Tim Soares of the Organized Crime Intelligence Bureau lead this investigation.
