New Bedford Police are reaching out to the public to help locate the owner of an iPhone that was found in a duffel bag near Gayhead Court and Potter Street Friday, Oct. 21.

An employee of the New Bedford Housing Authority was cleaning the area when he saw a dark duffel bag along the fence line in the area of Gayhead Court and Potter Street. The bag contained a silver iPhone 6 and an iPad with a broken screen.

Police were unable to open the items, which were locked, so they could not identify the owner of the property. The iPhone had a photo of a child on its screen.

Anyone with information on these items is asked to call the detective’s division at 508-992-7463, ext. 79501.

  1. On the back of the phone there is an imeid or esn. If you bring it to a sprint store they should be able to get you the name of the owner. I work for the Wareham sprint store. I hope you find the owner!
