New Bedford police make drug distribution arrests at 11 Viall Street for third time in four months

New Bedford police arrested four individuals yesterday at 11 Viall Street in New Bedford’s south end on various drug charges to include fentanyl distribution. This is the third fentanyl/heroin distribution arrest made at 11 Viall Street since March 2 of this year.

Fentanyl is now responsible for 89% of all the overdose deaths in Massachusetts.

On March 2, New Bedford police arrested Miguel Sevilla-Freire at his 11 Viall Street apartment 3N for Class B drug distribution. Angel Miguel Sevilla was also arrested on drug charges.

On May 22, New Bedford police arrested four individuals in the driveway of 11 Viall Street on drug charges to include fentanyl distribution:

– 42-year old Jose Garcia-Santiago of 174 Central Ave (apartment 3) in New Bedford for Class A drug possession and conspiracy to violate drug laws. Class A drug usually means heroin.
– 44-year old Carlos Perez of 65 Sawyer Street (apartment 1) in New Bedford for distribution of fentanyl, possession of Suboxone and conspiracy to violate drug laws.
– 69-year old Emilio Rivera of 110 County Street (apartment 74) in New Bedford for Class A drug possession, conspiracy to violate drug laws, Class E drug possession and Class A drug distribution – second offense (4/16/1998). Class A drug usually means heroin.
– 31-year old Edwin Carrasquillo of 20 Holly Street (apartment 1) in New Bedford for Class B drug distribution, Class A drug possession, Class B drug possession, warrant arrest, Class A drug distribution – second offense (2/5/2009)

On July 2, New Bedford police again arrested four individuals in the driveway of 11 Viall Street on drug charges to include fentanyl possession.

– 60-year old Darlene Sylvia of 171 Stuart Street (apartment 1) in Fall River for possession of a Class A drug (second offense) and possession of fentanyl.
– 37-year old Louise Andrade of 777 County Street (apartment 3) in New Bedford on possession of fentanyl and possessing an open container of alcohol on a public way.
– 33-year old Wesley Nelson of 295 Gardner Street in New Bedford for possession of a Class A drug (second offense) and possession of fentanyl.
– 42-year old Delmar Machado of 8 Phillips Ave. in New Bedford for possession of a Class A drug.

Viall Street is part of The South End of New Bedford’s Drug Dealer Mile – a 1-mile area where 17 drug dealers were arrested in a 5 month period.
