“The keen eye of NBPD Patrol Officer Nuno Cunha that led to two recent arrests involving duffel bags stuffed with marijuana.

In the early morning hours of June 24 while on routine patrol Officer Cunha spotted a suspicious vehicle parked in a lot at 469 Ashley Blvd. He observed the individual inside the vehicle with a large duffel bag later found to contain approximately 8lbs of marijuana. As a result of the observation, Kyle Murry, 21, Brockton, was arrested and charged with possession to distribute class D substance.

During a call on June 11, Officer Cunha was searching an apartment when he spotted a duffel bag that later weighed in at more than 10 lbs. of marijuana. As a result, Omar Rojas, 23, 141 Collette St., Apt. 3, was charged with possession to distribute class D substance. Two excellent examples of how New Bedford Police Officers maintain a watchful eye and awareness of their surroundings.”
