New Bedford Police Department requests helicopter support to fight crime

On June 2nd, 2014, the New Bedford Police Department’s explained the reasons for the increased helicopter traffic over New Bedford on their Facebook page :

In response to recent violent activity in the city, The Massachusetts State Police Air Wing, is in the area adding to our increased patrols and police presence.

 

The New Bedford Police Department is committed to taking all means necessary to reduce fear and improve the quality of life for the folks who live, work and raise their families in New Bedford.

 

We thank our partners at the Massachusetts State Police for their assistance at this time.
