New Bedford police arrest two on cocaine trafficking after car chase

On April 16, New Bedford Police gang unit detectives seized more than 100 grams of cocaine near the intersection of County and Fair streets after observing a motor vehicle infraction that resulted in a short vehicle chase.

Police arrested 25-year old John Preston Perry of 104 Stephanie Place and 26-year old Devonte Hunt of 202 County St. #2. Both were charged with cocaine trafficking and possession while Perry was also charged with failure to stop.

Sgt. Jarrod Gracia and Detective Sam Alagrin-Mojica were the arresting officers.
