New Bedford Police arrest mother and son on drug, gun charges

Detectives from the New Bedford Police Narcotics Unit executed search warrants on March 10 at 41 Linden St. #3E and 35 Linden St. #2W – including a Nissan Altima. As a result of these efforts, police officers seized more than 26 grams of cocaine, 228 tabs of ecstasy, a Ruger 22 caliber handgun with 9 bullets and almost $1,400 in cash.  

Joshua Sullivan, 25, 4/28/94 was arrested and charged with cocaine possessing, trafficking, and illegal possession of a firearm. Sullivan has a prior conviction of a firearm offense. His mother, Christina M. Fernandes, 46, was charged with possession, illegal possession of a firearm and conspiracy.

Sullivan and Fernandes are due to be arraigned March 11 in 3rd District Court of New Bedford. Detective Kevin Barbosa led the investigation.
