New Bedford police arrest 9 on drug distribution charges in 3 hours

New Bedford police officers rounded up nine suspected drug dealers in just over 3 hours on Thursday.

At 1:22 pm on March 14, New Bedford police arrested two people on narcotics charges at the post office located at 584 Orchard Street. 51-year old Anthony Michael Paulette of 141 Sycamore Street (Apartment 1) is being charged with possession to distribute a class A substance and conspiracy to violate drug laws. 39-year old Paula Fernades of 24 Carriage Drive (Apartment B) is being charged with possession to distribute a class B substance (crack cocaine) and conspiracy to violate drug laws.

At 2:07 pm, New Bedford police arrested two people on narcotics charges on Lucas Street. 43-year old Tammy Elliot of 14 Lucas Street (Apartment 2) and 55-year old Vincent Watkinson Jr. are being charged with possession to distribute a class B substance (crack cocaine) and conspiracy to violate drug laws.

At 2:36 pm, New Bedford police arrested one person on narcotics charges on Lucas Street in the same area as the 2:07 pm arrest (60 Lucas Street). 40-year old Hernan Benique is being charged with possession to distribute a class B substance (crack cocaine) and conspiracy to violate drug laws.

At 2:57 pm, New Bedford police arrested two people on narcotics charges on Cove Road. 42-year old Carlos Silva of 76 Dudley Street (Apartment 2) is being charged with possession of Fentanyl, possession of gabapentin, conspiracy to violate drug laws, operating a motor vehicle with a revoked/suspended license, illegally attached plates, and unregistered motor vehicle. 46-year old Marie Richelle Maher of 130 Chestnut Street (Apartment 2) is being charged with possession of a class A drug and conspiracy to violate drug laws.

At 4:45 pm, New Bedford police arrested two people on narcotics charges at 59 Covell Street, Apartment 1E. 26-year old Elias Trinidad and 29-year old Stephanie Serrano are being charged with possession to distribute a class B drug and conspiracy to violate drug laws. It is Elias Trinidad’s second possession to distribute a class B drug offense.
