“I am a concerned parent of a child with autism who is currently enrolled in Project Lifesaver program through Bristol County Sheriffs Department.

I was just notified that as of 7/1 sheriff will no longer participate in this program apparently he is getting rid of wasteful spending. It’s very disheartening that a department that has autism awareness as its profile picture would think that the project lifesaver program is wasteful.

I paid 300 dollars just 13 months ago to enroll my child for the new sheriff to decide that as of 7/1 they will no longer participate in this life-saving program.

Furthermore Bristol Country services a huge community including New Bedford and Fall River this will greatly impact many endangered individuals.

I hope the new sheriff reconsiders this decision ” -Megan Alves.
