New Bedford Mayor Jon Mitchell to Deliver Annual State of the City Address this Thursday

The Mayor of the City of New Bedford, Honorable Jon Mitchell will deliver his State of the City Address at a luncheon on Thursday, March 24th at Greater New Bedford Regional Vocational Technical High School located at 1121 Ashley Blvd. New Bedford, MA from 11:30AM—1:30PM. Registration begins at 11:00 a.m., lunch will be served at 12:00 noon, and the Mayor’s address will begin promptly at 1:00 p.m.

Since Mayor Mitchell has taken office, New Bedford has moved aggressively to reform its school system,

modernize municipal operations, stabilize government finances, grow the local economy, and improve the quality of life for New Bedford residents.

Each year, the Mayor delivers the State of the City address detailing past accomplishments, goals, planned policies and objectives for the largest city in the region for the coming year. Nearly 500 business, community, media, and political leaders are expected to attend this luncheon program. The event is sponsored by the New Bedford Area Chamber of Commerce, Webster Bank, the Sylvia Group, Blue Cross Blue Shield, and BayCoast Bank. Cost to attend the event is $50 for individual chamber members, $60 for individual non chamber members and $500 for a table of ten.
