New Bedford man with 80 arraignments, 19 convictions gets $500 bail for latest burglary charges

Ronnie Oliver, 45, last address unknown, New Bedford, was arraigned Jan. 18 in front of Judge James McGovern for breaking into Buzi Salon, the Garden and the Hungry Whale Pub.

The Bristol County District Attorney’s office requested $50,000 bail based on the new charges, three pending charges in Fall River District Court and his past history of not showing up to court. Judge McGovern set the bail at $500. If Ronnie Oliver clears the Fall River charges he needs $500 to be released on bail.

According to New Bedford police, Ronnie Oliver has defaulted on on 30 previous cases and has 80 adult arraignments with 19 convictions, including dealing cocaine, larceny, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, assault and battery on a police officer and possession of heroin.
