A New Bedford man appeared in U.S. District Court in Providence today and admitted that on at least four occasions he served as a middle-man in the sale and delivery of crack cocaine to an individual in Rhode Island.
30-year old Jordan Fernandes admitted that between February 12, 2018, and August 9, 2018, he participated in the sale and delivery of between 13.9 and 33.08 grams of crack cocaine for between $850 and $2,550. The sale price included a delivery fee Fernandes established for each transaction.
Appearing today before U.S. District Court Judge William E. Smith, Fernandes pleaded guilty to two counts of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute cocaine base and four counts of possession with intent to distribute and distribution of cocaine base. Fernandes is scheduled to be sentenced on May 8, 2020.
Fernandes’ guilty plea is announced by United States Attorney Aaron L. Weisman, Special Agent in Charge of the FBI Boston Division Joseph R. Bonavolonta, and Providence Police Chief Colonel Hugh T. Clements, Jr.
The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Terrence P. Donnelly.
