New Bedford man mugged by two men with ski masks Friday morning

A 32-year-old New Bedford man suffered injuries after being struck in the back of the head and punched in the face by two armed men early Friday at Ashley Boulevard and Earle Street.

One of the men pointed a handgun at the victim and demanded all his belongings.

The men stole the victim’s backpack, watch and laptop. The victim described the men as possibly black or Hispanic, between 20 and 30. They were wearing black winter coats, black ski masks, dark colored hats and dark pants.

They fled east on Earle Street. The victim was transported to St. Luke’s Hospital. The incident was reported at 12:04 a.m.
