City of New Bedford issues public notice for unauthorized drone activity

For the safety of flight and those on the ground, we kindly ask that Drone operators in the New Bedford area review the following information:

Modern Drone technology has the capability of interfering with established flight paths for aircraft in the vicinity of New Bedford. As such, operations within a 5 Nautical Mile Radius of the Airport are strictly prohibited unless prior authorization from the FAA (using LAANC) is received. Violation of this 5 Nautical Mile “NO FLY ZONE” is a Federal Offense that carries severe penalties.

Operations outside of the NO FLY ZONE are limited to a maximum altitude of 400 Feet and operators should follow best practices before, during, and after launch.”-New Bedford Regional Airport.
