image_pdfimage_print

The New Bedford Health Department is seeking individuals to serve as paid coaches for the Southeastern Health Initiative for Transformation (SHIFT) program. SHIFT is a community partnership aimed at helping New Bedford residents learn to manage three important health conditions: childhood asthma, falls by older adults, and chronic illness like hypertension in adults.

Coaches will be paid a stipend and will receive free training to become leaders of the SHIFT’s My Life My Health classes that teach lifestyle skills to help individuals cope more effectively with chronic diseases like hypertension.

Anyone interested in becoming a SHIFT coach, please contact Cristal Medeiros, SHIFT Coordinator, at 508-717-0717 or cmedeiros@communitynurse.com. Bilingual speakers are encouraged to apply.
