At approximately 6:30 this morning, Saturday, December 17, 2016, the crew of Engine 6 in New Bedford helped deliver twin girls.

Lt. Ken Silva, Firefighters Rich McCue, Mark Pacheco and Kevin Carvalho walked into the home just as the first baby was arriving. They clamped the cord and suctioned her until Medic 3 arrived who then reclamped and cut the cord.

As mommy and baby girl #1 were being transported to the hospital, baby girl #2 decided it was time to make her entrance as they were arriving to the parking area, and she was delivered in the ambulance.
