Live Coverage:

One of the firefighters was struck by falling debris, knocking off his mask. The firefighter and his partner were able to exit the burning home with the injured firefighter going to St. Luke’s hospital for treatment. He is expected to be released this evening.

According to NBFD Chief Gomes, the fire was a challenge as the NBFD was also responding to a vehicle crashing into the water on Clark’s Cove.

Additionally, the rainstorm and 40-50 MPH wind guests made the fire even more challenging.

Firefighters from Dartmouth, Fairhaven and Acushnet provided support.

The home is reported to have suffered damage to all three floors totalling $100,000 in damage. All three floors are uninhabitable.
