New Bedford Firefighter and members of Fire Prevention Bureau assist displaced families after Acushnet avenue fire

“Earlier yesterday Firefighter Richard Vigeant and members of the Fire Prevention Bureau were on scene at 1279 & 1283 Acushnet Avenue to assist all of the displaced families retrieve their belongings from both of the fire buildings.

Families were escorted in one at a time with fire personnel to ensure their safety. Fire personnel assisted in them in retrieving their belongings and safely exiting the building.

Head of Fire Prevention Captain Dan Coons stated they assisted approximately two dozen families with gathering up their belongings. Also assisting were Lt. Alcino Marques and Lt. Lionel Tetreault.
