New Bedford fire fighters extinguish car fire on Conduit Street

A car was reported on fire 2:30pm at the corner of Bates and Conduit streets in New Bedford. Upon arrival, New Bedford Fire Department Engine 9 was confronted with a fully involved car fire in the parking lot of 50 Conduit Street. The fire was extinguished after 20 minutes of fighting it. The cause of the fire is under investigation at this time.

There was a second fire over the weekend. A 28-year old man was arrested for breaking into a motor vehicle and setting the interior console on fire on Coggeshall Street Saturday morning.
