“Yesterday afternoon at 1441 hours the New Bedford Fire Department received calls for a reported structure fire at 44 Adams St.
While en route Unit 2 reported heavy smoke in the area. Upon arrival Engine 7 reported heavy fire in a detached garage and deployed a 2.5” hose line. Engine 1 attacked the fire from the rear using their mounted deck gun.
The fire was quickly brought under control and crews transitioned to the interior for extinguishment.
The crews of Ladder 1, Engine 8, Ladder 4, and Engine 9, along with Unit 1, and Haz Mat 1, were involved with the efforts. NBEMS, NBEMA, and NBPD assisted on scene.
No injuries were reported and the cause is being investigated by the New Bedford Fire Investigation Unit.” -New Bedford Fire Department.
