At approximately 1:45AM Sunday, the Fire Department responded to 46 Reynolds Street for a reported structure fire. On arrival Command Unit 2 reported a heavy smoke condition with fire in the 3rd-floor southeast corner and the attic space of this wood frame three-family dwelling.

Engines 1, 7, and 8, Ladders 1 & 4 responded with Command Units 1 & 2. Crews advanced two handlines into the third floor and attic and extinguished the fire without further extension.

There were no civilian or firefighter injuries. The dwelling was equipped with working smoke detectors and all the tenants safely evacuated prior to our arrival. Approximately ten residents were displaced by the fire and are being assisted by the American Red Cross. The fire is being investigated by the NBFD Fire Investigation Unit. While the fire remains under investigation, it appears accidental at this time.

NBEMS and NBPD provided assistance on scene.
