“At 11:57am yesterday, the New Bedford Fire Department responded to the laundromat in the Friends Plaza located at 2301 Purchase Street for a reported fire.
On arrival, crews reported smoke extending from the roof and fire extending from a commercial dryer. Crews extinguished the fire with one hose line, ventilated the laudromat, and secured the utilities.
No firefighters or civilians were injured. The fire cause was investigated by the Fire Investigation Unit and determined to be accidental.”-New Bedford Fire Department.
