New Bedford emergency overflow shelter open tonight (15 Dec, 2016)

Due to expected extreme weather conditions, the overflow shelter at Sister Rose House on 71 Division Street in New Bedford will be activated this evening Thursday, December 15. In the morning, guests will be allowed to remain in the building for an extended period of time yet to be determined.

Guests can start to arrive at 6pm and it is first come, first serve. The cut off point is at 25 individuals. Any potential individuals that are medically fragile should be sent to St. Lukes Hospital as shelter might not be able to meet their needs.

Any further inquires can be forwarded to Sister Rose House or 1-800-homeless.
