On Wednesday evening Kyle Silva, 50, of New Bedford, was arrested by Officer Charles Pillsbury and Sergeant Kevin Reilly in Onset center, following a scuffle in which Department of Natural Resources Officer Joshua Kimball was assaulted.

Mr. Silva pushed Officer Kimball during the disturbance, and then violently resisted arrest while yelling obscenities. He was finally subdued when Harbormaster Garry Buckminster arrived and assisted in handcuffing him. Multiple Wareham Police units arrived to assist after an urgent call for back-up was received.

Silva is charged with assault and battery on a police officer, disorderly conduct, disturbing the peace, and resisting arrest.
