The New Bedford Symphony Youth Orchestras will be holding auditions for the 2015-16 season on September 3, September 9, and September 10 at the UMass Dartmouth College of Visual and Performing Arts. Now entering its eighth season, the Youth Orchestras rehearse weekly at UMass Dartmouth and perform several concerts throughout the year, including at the NBSO Holiday Pops Concert where Symphony student players sit side-by-side with New Bedford Symphony professional musicians.
The NBSYO now boasts five ensembles in which students can participate. The Symphony, Repertory, and Debut orchestras welcome auditions of strings, winds, brass, and percussion players. The brand new Preparatory String Ensemble welcomes strings players to audition. Poco Strings requires no experience or audition just registration for students to learn to play violin.
