National Weather Service issues Winter Storm Warning for Massachusetts

As of 1:51 pm on March 1, The National Weather Service in Boston has a Winter Storm Warning in effect from 1-7am with 4 to 7 inches of snow predicted. The snowfall totals on the map above are as of 4:32 am.

* WHAT…Heavy wet snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 4 to 7 inches expected.

* WHERE…Northern Bristol MA, Western Plymouth MA, Eastern Plymouth MA, Southern Bristol MA, and Southern Plymouth MA Counties.

* WHEN…From 1 AM to 7 PM EST Saturday.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Heaviest snowfalls from 4 am through noon Saturday at 1 inch per hour at times. Hazardous travel expected and the wet snow may result in isolated to scattered power outages.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS.

A Winter Storm Warning for snow means severe winter weather conditions will make travel very hazardous or impossible. If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.
