National Weather Service issues Freeze Warning for much of MA and RI

The National Weather Service in Taunton has issued a freeze Warning which is in effect from 10 pm Wednesday, 26 Oct, 2016, to 9 am EDT on Thursday, 27 Oct, 2016.

  • Locations: Rhode Island away from the coast and southeast Middlesex county…southern Bristol County…and western
    Plymouth County in Massachusetts.
  • Temperatures: in the lower 30s.
  • Timing: temperatures will fall below freezing shortly after midnight and stay there through sunrise.
  • Impacts: temperatures will be at or below freezing. Sensitive vegetation may be killed…if left unprotected.

Including the cities of:

  • Cambridge
  • Brockton
  • Fall River
  • New Bedford
  • Foster
  • Smithfield
  • Providence
  • Coventry
  • West Greenwich
  • East Greenwich
  • Warwick
  • West Warwick
  • Narragansett
  • Westerly

Precautionary/preparedness actions: A freeze warning means sub-freezing temperatures are imminent or Highly likely. These conditions will kill crops and other Sensitive vegetation.
