National Parks Announce Change in Hours of Operation

Roger Williams National Memorial and New Bedford Whaling National Historical Park announce a return to seven day a week operation of their visitor centers. Both visitor centers will be open to the public from 9 am to 5 pm seven days a week from April 1 through December 31. Roger Williams National Memorial is located at 282 Main Street in downtown Providence, Rhode Island. New Bedford Whaling National Historical Park is located at 33 William Street in downtown New Bedford.

Roger Williams National Memorial was established by Congress in 1965 to commemorate the life of the founder of Rhode Island who was a champion of the ideals of religious freedom and liberty of conscience.The memorial’s visitor center is wheelchair accessible and free of charge. New Bedford Whaling National Historical Park was established by Congress in 1996 to help preserve and interpret America’s nineteenth century whaling industry.
