Narcotics Division takes cocaine, marijuana off streets; charge homeless man

New Bedford Police Narcotics Division took cocaine and marijuana off the street Wednesday and charged a 31-year-old homeless man at the New Bedford Inn and Suites with drug offenses.

Kyle Jardine was the target of a search warrant executed at a room at the hotel. The search yielded five plastic bags of cocaine (5.5 grams), four plastic bags of marijuana (35 grams), a digital scale, packaging materials and $206 in cash.

He was charged with possession of class B substance (cocaine) with intent to distribute and possession of class D substance (marijuana) with intent to distribute.

The incident happened at 9:15 p.m.
