“Move over” violation results in firearm, OUI charges by Massachusetts State Police

“Trooper Guerrera from the Narcotics Section, was commuting home from a paid detail in Troop A when she conducted a motor vehicle stop on I-93 South in Quincy after observing multiple violations.

Sergeant Best from the Gaming Enforcement Unit, was commuting home from his regular duty assignment and backed her up on the traffic stop. Additional assistance was provided by Trooper Murphy, K-9, and Troopers Johnson and Grant from State Police South Boston Barracks (H-6).

The subsequent investigation resulted in the operator being arrested and charged with:

1. Move over violation
2. Speeding
3. Marked lanes violation
4. Operating under the influence of alcohol
5. Negligent operation
6. Leave scene of property damage crash
7. Open container of marijuana
8. Open container of alcohol
9. Possession of large capacity firearm
10. Possession of large capacity feeding device
11. Possession of ammunition without FID card
12. Improper storage of large capacity firearm.” –
