After a 10-year hiatus, Opus Cactus returns with a new look, fresh energy, and fun surprises. The landscape of the American Southwest comes alive to uncover the danger, sensuality and humor hidden in the desert. Vibrant images of cacti, slithering lizards and fire dancers fill the stage in this unique and modern experience created by Artistic Director Moses Pendleton. He is also the co-founder of the groundbreaking Pilobolus Dance Theatre.

For 20 years, MOMIX has been celebrated for its ability to conjure up a world of surrealistic images using props, light, shadow, humor and the human body. In addition to stage performances worldwide, the company has frequently worked on special projects and in film and television. MOMIX has made five Italian television features broadcast to 55 countries and has performed on Antenne II in France. MOMIX was also featured in PBS’s Dance in America series. The company participated in the Homage a Picasso in Paris and was selected to represent the US at the European Cultural Center at Delphi.

The company appears with the Montreal Symphony in the film of Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition, winner of an International Emmy for Best Performing Arts Special. In 1992, Pendleton created Bat Habits to celebrate the opening of the San Francisco Giants’ new spring training park in Scottsdale, Arizona. MOMIX has been commissioned by corporations, performing at Fiat’s month long 100th Anniversary Celebration in Torino, Italy and Mercedes Benz’s International Auto Show in Frankfurt, Germany. With nothing more than light, shadow, props, and the human body, MOMIX has astonished audiences on five continents for more than 35 years.

MOMIX has performed throughout the United States, Canada, Spain, Greece, Italy, France, Germany, Russia, Denmark, England, Austria, Ireland, Holland, Argentina, Mexico, Brazil, Chile, Japan, Taiwan, Singapore and Australia. The company is based in Washington, Conn.
