Middle School Students encouraged to attend high school open house

New Bedford High School will host an Open House on Wednesday, January 21, from 6 to 8 p.m. for all middle school students and their families.

The three-part program will begin with an overview presentation in the auditorium at 6 p.m. The second segment will be a walking tour of the school and will begin directly following the auditorium presentation. The final segment will take place in the cafeteria where parents will have the opportunity to ask questions and find out about the exciting programs that NBHS has to offer.

New Bedford High School is proud to offer rigorous academics, including:

  • Five innovative career academies (Academy of Engineering; Academy of Finance; Academy of Health and Sciences; Academy of Information Technology; Academy of Arts and Humanities)
  • Online learning opportunities including Virtual High School and APEX
  • The largest selection of Advanced Placement (AP) classes in the area.

While at NBHS, students also have the opportunity to excel in athletics including football, volleyball, soccer, basketball, track, cross country, swimming, wrestling, field hockey, tennis, hockey, baseball, softball, golf and lacrosse.

The high school offers arts and music programs, including Advanced Placement Studio Art and Music Theory; over a dozen musical ensembles including award-winning concert/marching band, show choirs and jazz band; a drama club that produces fully- staged musicals, plays and community events; and hands-on, engaging courses in music, visual arts, drama and videography that build skills for beginners to advanced students.
