Remember Lance Cpl. Matthew R. Rodriguez, the Marine from Fairhaven that returned home on December 19th, 2013 after being killed in Afghanistan? His family has set up a memorial fund “to support graduating seniors from GNBRVTHS and to provide maintenance for the playground, at the New Bedford Regional Airport, that has been dedicated to him. In addition to these efforts, the fund will also provides support to local military families, veterans programs and the Wounded Warrior Project, which Matthew was a supporter of.”
