Mattapoisett police arrested breaking and entering suspect

On Wednesday, February 06, at approx. 01:17 pm the Mattapoisett Police Department received a report of a breaking and entering in progress. The homeowner arrived home and was confronted by a person in his home. The suspect immediately fled from the residence with several items running south on Brandt Island Road.

The Mattapoisett Police along with the assistance of the Fairhaven Police set up a secure perimeter around the area. Shortly thereafter Detective Craig LeBlanc observed a party matching the description walking through the wood line off Brandt Island Rd. After a brief search the suspect identified as Maxx Phillips, age 30 of 2511 Cranberry Highway, Wareham was taken into custody. A search warrant was later executed on a residence in Mattapoisett and all of the stolen property was recovered. Plymouth County K9 and BCI assisted with the Investigation.

Maxx Phillips was charged with:
– Breaking and Entering into a dwelling house in the daytime to commit a felony.
– Vandalism of property
– Larceny over $1200
