“Firefighters rescue one person from an overturned vessel in Mattapoisett Harbor.
While Marine 1 and 2 were returning from a marine incident off Clevelands Ledge Lighthouse, Marine 2 noticed two people waiving there hands and pointing towards Mattapoisett Neck. Marine 2 quickly turned around and noticed an oveturned vessel with what appeared to be one person in the water.
As M-2 approached the scene they noticed one person sitting on a corner of the boat half in the water. M-2 was able to safely get the person onboard and remove them from the water.
The Mattapoisett Harbormaster was able to upright the vessel and take it into the wharf while M-2 brought the party back to shore. It was a great job by all involved!” -Mattapoisett Fire Rescue.
