Mattapoisett Fire Rescue responds to air conditioner fire

“Just after 6:00pm on Satruday, Engine 1 and Engine 4 responded to a house filled with smoke and an air conditioning unit on fire down Hollywoods.

Luckily, the homeowners were able to use a dry chemical fire extinguisher to knock the flames down prior to our arrival. The homeowners had actually been alerted to the fire because they had working smoke alarms!

Crews remained on scene for a period of time overhauling the area, checking for extension and ventilating the home.”-Mattapoisett Fire Rescue.
